History
On 21 October 1987 the Construction and Technical Services Company "MARBUD" in Torun was founded as the limited liability company. The company was founded by three partners: Mr Marian Bartłomiej Bartosiński, Mr Ludomir Bożydar Niedzielak and Mr Henryk Białas. The main objective of the founded company was to construct residential houses, as well as other public utility and industrial buildings.
The first construction project concerned flats for doctors and Health Centre in Ustronie Morskie near Kołobrzeg – this first contract was signed in January 1988. Operations on a larger scale were developed by executing successive contracts for construction of residential buildings for the Housing Society „Metalchem” in Torun. The first constructed blocks stand at 17 Studzienna and 29 and 31 Targowa streets. Also a need to develop its own company was not forgotten. The warehouse and production complex built in Torun at 43 Sadowa street made it possible in April 1989 to start production of construction materials, mainly flooring systems and beams in the “TERiVA” system, as well as elements of first-fix joinery.
Successive contracts for works in the Commune Ustronie Morskie resulted in creating there a Branch of the Company “Marbud”, director of which became one of the partners, Mr Henryk Białas.
Meanwhile in Torun, in November 1989 the first constructed house at 17 Studzienna street was commissioned. The company “Marbud” developed, constructing successive residential houses in Torun and, at the same time, extending its activities abroad. In the years from 1991 to 1993, in cooperation with German companies from Neubrandenburg – „Wohnbaukombinat”, „BauReal”, „Reifenwerk”, as well as in cooperation with the consulting company of Andreas Man from Wesseling, numerous construction services were realised in that country. Thus it was possible to gain new experience in handling investments abroad.
Other contracts abroad included a contract signed in June 1993 for construction of two hotels in Suchumi, Georgia, based on British-Russian Joint Enterprise „ABIN-ENTERPREISES”.
From first years of its operation the company has received numerous awards and recognitions for quality, reliability and modernity of constructed buildings. The first important award was the President of Torun Award “Edifice of the Year” for the residential house of 46 flats at Konopackich street in Torun, commissioned in July 1993.
The company gained further experience in 1995, executing renovation and modernisation of the buildings of the X Secondary School in Torun. The task was executed perfectly under the supervision of the City Conservation Officer. It was later used during renovation and modernisation of 5 historic houses at the Old-Town Market Square in Torun.
The strengthening of the company must be noted here, when Mr Mariusz Prestel, current Director, joined it, who on 15 February 1996 became a co-owner of the Company. In the subsequent years Mr Henryk Białas and Mr Ludomir B. Niedzielak sold their shares in the Company.
Buildings constructed in the following years were a string of successes, bringing in acknowledgment, numerous awards and recognitions. All executed buildings are listed in the other part of this website; however, the following must be mentioned:
- construction of the Nature-Healing Institute of the 22 Spa Hospital in Ciechocinek belonging to the Ministry of National Defence,
- construction of the Academic Secondary School,
- residential houses for TBS at the streets Ścieżki Szkolnej and 35-39 Winnica,
- expansion of the buildings of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Nicholas Copernicus University,
- and many, many others.
From its very beginning, the company „Marbud” has paid attention to occupational health and safety and that has resulted in a very low accident occurrence, as well as awards in that field. In December 2000 the President of the Management Board collected a prize for taking the first place in the competition “Employer – organiser of safe work” and “Safe Construction Site 2000” organised by the District Labour Inspectorate in Bydgoszcz.
Also important was recognition, in form of the references given the company, by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians, for high quality, punctuality and reliability in execution of buildings.
The range of types of constructed buildings was continuously extended. Numerous large-area trade buildings were constructed – for the NETTO chain, VIKI in Torun, and recently for the CASTORAMA chain. An excellent showcase is execution of industrial buildings for the Japanese company ORION, a demanding customer in respect to quality and time of construction. There are other buildings, f.e., construction of Abattoir for Pigs and Cattle in Lubicz Dolny.
In December 2001 the company „Marbud” obtained certificates of the Integrated Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO standards 9001-2000, 14001 and 18001. The company organisation and way of management is continuously optimised. The objective is the highest satisfaction and contentment of individual customers and of business partners.
From 2004 the company has began to execute large projects in form of complete housing estates, the largest of which is “By the Forest” in Torun, of 450 high standard flats. However, the Housing Estate “Six Planets” in Bydgoszcz, Housing Estate “Sunny” in Ciechocinek, Housing Estate “Nad Drwęcą” in Lubicz Dolny or the housing estate of 110 single-family houses in Górsk near Torun must also be mentioned. This type of activities – construction of large housing estates – is currently continued. In Torun construction of the Fine Arts Housing Estate of over 750 modern flats was started, while in Bydgoszcz at Inowrocławska street a complex of 5 multi-family houses will be constructed. The other types of construction are also continued. On 11 July 2008 in Brodnica construction of another trade building for the NETTO chain was started, and in June a residential complex at 8 Rejtana street was commissioned for the Młodzieżowa Housing Estate.
The successes of the company result from the stable management and engineering staff, and from taking care of each employee. The excellent engineering staff, as well as cooperation with reliable and trusty contractors and business partners, ensures good development and a perspective for further achievements. The summary of the activities so far during celebrations of the “MARBUD” 20th Anniversary, words of recognition received by the President Mr. Marian Bartosiński and by the Director, Mr Mariusz Prestel from authorities of towns and communes, managements of the cooperating banks and of our business partners, allow facing new larger challenges in the field of residential, public utility and industrial construction.
