Helping the needy

The company „MARBUD” from the very beginning of its existence actively supports many social engagement activities in Torun, in the Kuyavia-Pomerania Region and in the whole country.

Those activities can be divided into the following areas, to which the financial resources are allocated, but also the support in form of free renovation and modernisation works is offered, depending on needs.

  1. The activities of Caritas of Torun Diocese, supporting poor, homeless and disabled persons, children and adults, inhabitants of towns and villages, are financially supported. Very often an individual financial assistance is provided to ill children in a particularly difficult situation, for example, the assistance for Kamilek Popielarski from the village Dębiec 1A near Lipiany. Assistance is also offered to the Foundation of Initiatives for Disabled Persons PRO OMNIBUS, organising, under the Honorary Auspices of the RP First Lady, Mrs Maria Kaczyńska, events supporting children and disabled young people. Earlier the foundation operating under the auspices of Mrs Jolanta Kwaśniewska was supported.
    Another example of such help for children is support offered to the Hospice for children „Nadzieja” in Torun at 169 B Włocławska street.
  2. Assistance offered to the Monastery Na Skałce and the Higher Theological Seminary of the Pauline Order in Cracow is an example of the financial support of renovation of sacred buildings important for the Polish society, which are a material heritage of our history and culture. Similar cooperation also takes place in Torun, both for the Roman Catholic Church and for the Parish of the Orthodox Church.
  3. For many years various sport clubs in Torun have been supported, excellent example of which is the assistance given to the Toruński Klub Sportowo-Turystyczny (Torun Sport and Tourism Club) „BUDOWLANI”.
  4. Holidays for children and young people, particularly those from educationally neglected and pathological families form another area supported by the company MARBUD. Similarly, partially financed are Christmas or Easter meetings organised for the poorest people, for example, those organised for the oldest pensioners by Związek Nauczycielstwa Polskiego (Polish Teachers’ Union).
  5. The company MARBUD is a known and recognised patron of the theatre culture in the region. Cooperation with the Wilam Horzyca Theatre concerns both individual artistic projects and renovations and modernisation of the Theatre. Also puppets theatres receive assistance in organising performances for children, example of which is the support given to the Puppets Theatre run by the Foundation „Pro Theatro”.
  6. Cooperation and help offered to many schools and educational organisations in Torun and our voivodeship are another creditable example of our social engagement. The most known example is sponsoring of international open air painting sessions organised by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicholas Copernicus University. It is also a way of promoting the beauty of Poland.
  7. Many, many more local social initiatives receive a significant support of the company MARBUD. They include erection of statues of the Pope John Paul II in Torun and other places, funding banners for uniformed services or renovations and modernisations of school and culture buildings.
